Android tablets count 39% of the global share.

With baby steps Android is gaining market in the tablet area once totally dominated by iOS (Apple).
Apple still in the top of the game with 57.6% down from 68.2% a year ago.
Android when to 39% from 29% a year ago and Windows only got 1.5%.

Looks like Android is going to rule the world!

Google says goodbye to the Android menu button with Ice Cream Sandwich

With the introduction of Ice Cream Sandwich, almost no Android devices will soon rely on the Menu button that was removed in Android 3.0 Honeycomb.
Google has been trying to removed the menu button for a year now to make use experience easier.
The button is now replaced with navigation bar, the three dots on the right top corner or right bottom corner of the screen, depending on the app.

Like to see how serious Google is taking Android.

Facebook now the most popular social network in Brazil

facebook brazil
Comscore figures show that the big F social network service has been accessed by 36.1 million Brazilian users in December, beating the old Google's rival Orkut by two milion.
Orkut has been the number one social network in Brazil for a long time, but in 2011 only managed to grow 5 percent, leaving us with a big question mark.
Is it Orkut dead? Why Google + (plus) hasn't shown any growth in Brazil?
Guess we gonna to have wait and see.

A white galaxy nexus has been spotted in the wild and the Android HD blog has pictures of it.

Huawei to deliver the world slimmest Android phone.

huaweiascend.jpg (640×519)

Everyone heard of Huawei when it comes to cheap smart phones, but also they do make great phones like the Honor and Vision.
But the Ascend P1s looks quiet promising, boasting a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 dual-core 1.5 GHz processor (MSM8960), 1 GB or RAM, 4GB of internal storage, and a microSD slot that supports all the way up to 64 GB. The Huawei Ascend P1 LTE also sports WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, GPS, 2000 mAh battery and a half dozen of the standard sensors included in today’s Android phones. The handset has an 8 megapixel camera with LED and is capable of shooting 1080p video at 30 frames per second.
It will come with Android Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0.1 and the phone is so slim that has only 9.9mm of thickness.
The price and date isn’t avaialiable yet but should be out very soon.
If you are looking for a slim phone and Android 4.0, here is one to wait for.

Sony Smartwatch

The only smartwatch I heard for ages was the I’m Watch, but they been advertising for ages but only now at CES in Vegas people got to see what it was all about.
The concept was good but that until Sony unveiled their smartwatch, looked way well than the I’m Watch, sleeker and easier to use.
Its works like the iPod nano, it’s a watch with a clip at the back that can be attached to a wrist band so many bands to choose it from.
It runs Android the version no one knows yet, what the cool thing about it, I can sync with you Android phone and you can read Facebook status, SMS, Emails and even control the music of your phone from your watch, that’s very cool. It will be connected with the phone via Bluetooth.
Access to Android Market, meaning some apps will work on the watch as well.
The price will be $149.00 that is a lot less than I’m watch that is going out for 249.00.
I am defiantly getting one.

My very gadget blog, all about me first!

Let’s start talking about me first. My Name is Mario Givago but I like to spell it as Zhivago, was born in Brazil originally but been living here in UK for ages.
Well this isn’t about me, but all about gadgets. I am obsessed about electronics from little watches to powerful PCs.
I can’t say I am a brand person, but I like good things with the right price, everyone who knows me would call me Mr Google ( yes I am crazy about Google and to be honest i don’t know where this passion came from).
I started to like gadgets when everyone had an iPod and I had my Sony Discman (how embarrassing) but I loved it and promised to stay with it for a long time.
But then the Creative (any one remember that?) I was amazed with the looks and wasn’t an iPod, so I bought one and all my friends kept asking why don’t you have an iPod, but i always liked to be different, like to show to people to that there is good things out there that can cost much less and do the same thing and you don’t need to have the same things as every one to prove that you cool. I was still cool with my Zen.
Years passed I continued with my Creative Zen then upgraded to a bigger one after year! Year 2007 came and at the time I had the latest Nokia phone out here in the UK but on the other side of the pond they had the iPhone.
At the time I was working as a flight attendant for a Canadian Airline and flying to USA very often made, so that me buy an iPhone, but somehow that didn’t appeal to me at first and I gave it up and sold it.
Time passed and the iPhone 3G came out in the UK and huge queues to buy and of course I was there to get one as well. Why? I don’t know, maybe because was the first proper touch screen phone, so I got one. As a Mac user that was divine, having all my music and phone in one device, loved it.
That same year the G1 (first android phone) was released with a fair price and a promising future, one of my friends had one and looked so poorly compared to iPhone 3G that even desperate to get out of the Apple greediness I decided to stay a little longer.
Another year (2009) came along and along came iPhone 3GS, with a huge price plan and money in advance, at the time that was insane because here in the UK we are not used to pay for phones, it was always free, but I ended up paying for it.
That same year the HTC Hero was released, it looked sexy and the HTC Sense looked tasty as well, but I wasn’t so convinced yet, one of the main things that kept me away from Android was the Apps, wasn’t many at the time and my iPhone 3GS was loaded with Apps that I used at lot and also the capability with Macbook.
But from that time I was fascinated about Android and Google, was deep in love with my Gmail (sounds sad to be in love with email) and was already following blogs and gadgets sites about Android.
Year 2010 was the year of change for better of course, Nexus One (first Google branded phone) was released at the beginning of the year and everyone (well let’s say us geeks) were amazed and happy that Google was stepping out on the game. But wasn’t until later that year that a twin of Nexus One came out with a better HTC Sense skin on the top the HTC Desire with a sleek and slim design.
But I doubt didn’t stop there (I know my start sign is Libra and even when comes to gadgets I can’t decide straight away) pure Google or HTC Sense, then I choose the Desire as my first Android phone.
Then a year later I went pure Google, got my Nexus S, oh my God how much I loved that phone, first phone that after a year I didn’t get bored with and the announcement of Galaxy Nexus got me counting the days to get it and of course I was there at Phones4U to collect it on the first day. It’s been a month with my Galaxy Nexus with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich (Google name each major update of a desert in alphabetical order) and it’s flawless and easy to use, huge change from previous version where a normal user would find a bit confusing, its more people oriented, but I will do my own review on Android 4.0.
To sync with my Mac at the time was a few Mac software to sync my music and photos, as a gadget lover when I am spending my money on something I want it to be mine, have my looks, my taste, do what I want it to do, have the freedom to install and uninstall any thing I want, yes I did have that with iPhone but it was jailbroken, I was voiding my guarantee, losing money on something I have paid for if anything went wrong.
Apple is a great company don’t get me wrong, I love my Macbook but the way Apple treat its clients by charging a premium rate for a phone that isn’t great as many phones out there it’s disgusting. Every single iPhone out there looks the same to me, I am not talking about hardware here, but when you slide to unlock any iPhone all you see is the app grids that you can scroll right or go back left. Now that’s when the joy comes along, joy of openness called Android and one the things made me fall in love I mean deep in love with the company.
The greatness of Android comes in sizes, shapes, prices, you can pick all that, big fan of Samsung there are plenty, HTC also plenty and the list goes on.
Every Android is different, I don’t think you will ever see two Android phones home pages looking the same, you can add apps and some amazing called widgets, weather, music, game, SMS any widget that you can think of, that will make your Android unique from any Android around the world.
Another amazing about Android was the chance to give companies that didn’t even people knew about like Asus, Huawei, every can take a bite of the market and that is a great thing for us, that makes gadgets cheaper and higher quality due the amount of competition out there.
Well said about me and what I think about gadgets and mainly Google Android things.
Thanks for reading.
